Madeleine Vogt - soprano, Matthias Schubotz - tenor, Holger Krause - bass, Members of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig
A cat won’t stop from catching mice,
and maidens remain faithful to their coffee.
The mother holds her coffee dear,
the grandmother drank it also,
who can thus rebuke the daughters!

Recording of Elegiac Trio by Arnold Bax for Flute, Viola and Harp.
Rachel Talitman - Harp, Pierre Henry Xuereb - Viola, Marcos Fregnani Martins - Flute
“The so-called “Easter Rising” of 1916 was an important event for Irish Republicans seeking independence from Britain. The fighting lasted for six days and made a mark on Ireland’s history.
It was immediately following this uprising that Sir Arnold Bax wrote the Elegiac Trio. An English composer by birth, Bax was introduced to all things Ireland by his brother, a writer by trade, and as a young adult Bax frequented the country and eventually moved there with his wife in 1914.”

Remo Giazotto (1910-1998): Adagio in G minor
This piece is originally referred to Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751). Giazotto claimed to have transcribed from a manuscript fragment of a Tomaso Albinoni sonata that he had found among the ruins of Saxon State Library. The fragment has never appeared in public; Giazotto stated that it contained only the bass line, and the work was copyrighted by Giazotto. (via Wikipedia)
